Notts Voices is kindly funded by the Postcode Lottery
A mixed media project aimed at improving accessibility to the Arts by introducing Creative Ways to Wellbeing; for those who are looking for an outlet and Creative Ways to Work; for those who would like to develop their collaborative skills for employment.
Notes Voices at Mansfield Palace Theatre
Our Notts Voices event was a joyful celebration of music, creativity and community
People joined us from:
Reach Disability, Newark and Mansfield
Jigsaw Support Scheme
Worksop Mental Health Group
Langwith Lodge Care Home
Family and friends
The event featured:
A fun, interactive live music quiz themed around Nottinghamshire and nostalgia
Pop-up poetry
Karaoke and sing-alongs
An intergenerational and inclusive atmosphere
Breaking Down Barriers
Working across some of the most deprived areas of Nottinghamshire, we collaborated with:
8 charitable organisations
2 schools
2 alternative provision centres
3 residential care homes for people with dementia
Impact:
Directly reached ~200 community members
Indirectly reached 500+ via social media
Over 5,000 views of combined creative outputs so far
Unlocking Creative Careers
Through creative careers workshops in schools, alternative provision centres, charities, and a local business, we:
Introduced new technologies, platforms, and skills
Gave participants the confidence to see their creativity as a potential career or income stream
Celebrating Nottinghamshire Voices
Through our collaborative work, we’ve:
Delivered 16 creative production workshops
Hosted 2 public exhibitions
Built 2 international partnerships
We’ve shared participants’ voices through:
A community album on vinyl and cassette
Artwork and poetry on postcards
Learning packs for language schools using our soundscapes
