Time To Do Zine 2020

HMP Nottingham

Obviously, Covid-19 has been a weird and stressful time for all of us but not least for prisoners who have been stuck inside their cells for 23 hours a day! We fully intended to have been creating a signposting video with our ex-offenders this summer with the generous funds the Co-op granted us and sadly, Covid saw an end to that... for now!

Instead, we teamed up with fabulous design student, Jack Walker Heppell, currently attending Goldsmith's University in London (2022 update: now graduated with a 1st!) to produce a slick and functional, activity 'zine' as a distraction for our bored and fed up prisoners. The activities are targeted at varying abilities and can be achieved with limited resources that prisoners have access to. There have been three issues of Time to Do in circulation at HMP Nottingham with the assistance of the HMP library service.

Time to Do even drew the attention of BBC Nottingham breakfast show!

Please do check out Pop Trumps from Issue 1 and try it for yourself!
